JC Barre Teacher Spotlight: Morgan Preston
Seasoned JC Barre instructor, Morgan, brightens our mornings, afternoons and evenings when she teaches. She shares a little bit about herself and her love for fitness!
Morgan grew up in South Jersey, right outside of Philadelphia and started dancing when she was just 5 years old! As she sat in the lobby of her big sister’s dance class waiting for her, she felt a need to join in and move! Let her tell it, she hasn’t stopped dancing since! Dancing, yoga, and fitness have always been a way for her to find peace and balance and a way to connect to others in a helpful and powerful way.
She earned a BFA in Dance from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts and has been teaching dance (ballet, jazz, hip hop) for about 10 years. In 2015 she moved to Jersey City and was introduced to JC Barre through our very own, William Tomaskovic. To date, she has been teaching barre for 3 years and loves how her JC Barre clients make the community so fun and inclusive!
Additionally, she has professional dance experience and has performed at the Joyce Theater, Tenri Cultural Center, and various New Jersey Performing Arts Venues. She also dances for corporate events and bar/bat mitzvahs. Today, she is enrolled in a NASM Personal Trainer certification, she plans to use this new avenue to connect to even more clients and help them with their personal goals.
In what seems like the very little time she is not dancing or teaching, you will find Morgan exploring Jersey City, painting or watching a scary movie!
