Stephanie joined JC Barre earlier this year. Let's learn more about her!
Stephanie grew up in Woodbridge, NJ but has called Hoboken home for the past 15 years. She discovered dance was her passion at the age of three while taking various classes including ballet, tap, and jazz. Through her dance experience she learned about hard work, dedication, and discipline. She feels she has applied those three areas to participating in all different types of fitness activities as well as teaching fitness classes.
How long have you been teaching Barre?
Stephanie: After training to become an instructor in March, I have been teaching barre since April but have been actively taking barre for 4 years.
Do you teach any other type of fitness classes or programs?
Stephanie: I also teach indoor cycling classes in Manhattan, NY which is also another passion of mine.
Do you have another career focus other than fitness? If so please share.
Stephanie: I am also a teacher in the Jersey City Public School System. My current position is a learning consultant on the child study team where I test children for learning disabilities so they can receive the help they need to be successful in school.
Why do you love teaching the ladies at JC Barre?
Stephanie: I enjoy teaching the ladies at JC Barre because they are so hardworking. They are fun and always up for new challenges. To me, working at JC Barre does not even feel like a job. It’s workout party with fabulous women working towards their goals.
What do you enjoy doing on your down time?
Stephanie: On my down time, I enjoy traveling. My next stop will be Thailand this winter. I also enjoy hanging with friends and family trying new restaurants, visiting wineries, cooking, and of course walking my two pups Bella and Lulu. My idea of a perfect day is sitting on a beach reading a good psychological thriller.
